Sayonara paranormal fans!

"It's been a long road, getting from there to here..." as the opening titles for Star Trek: Enterprise went, and it has been for us hasn't it? We've been posting on-and-off since November 2017 and now it's time to say goodbye. As explained last post, Ghostguard news will make occasional appearances on the "Adventures in Retro" blog, which can be found at this address: https://adventuresinretro.blogspot.com/

Still, it's been fun though hasn't it? Checking out some of the greatest sightings in Ceredigion, from Xenephon Eugenedes to the big cats of Bont, from the Consti Woman to Something Strange in the TESCO Car Park (Which, by the way, was the most popular blog post we ever uploaded)

I don't want to ramble, so I'm just going to end here on a simple note. It was nice of you to come, but the party's over. Hopefully see you for some Adventures in Retro, we'll be uploading a lot more frequently that we did for this, and the posts are worded much less awkwardly than these, as we're reading over them a couple more times!

Happy Hunting friends, and hope the future finds you well.

BLOG MIGRATION!

As you could guess from the title, this blog is shutting down and all the posts will moved to a new blog called "Fede Thomas's Adventures in Retro". As you could probably guess from the title, it will not be exclusive to Ghostguard stuff, but also contain film reviews, Transformers reviews, stuff about the NES (Or Nintendo Entertainment System, if you've been living under a rock since 1985) and any other thing I think would be of any sort of interest to the Internet at large.

The website is now up and can be found at the following link address.

I apologise for not being active, but I had no time to write as I was busy revising for and passing my A Levels.

Who ya' gonna' call?

Well, we've all heard the announcement, and it has convinced me to come out of my temporary retirement and carry on with this blog.

Ghostbusters 4 is about to be released (I'm going to get some angry comments about that) and, unlike the previous film, Ghostbusters 3 or Ghostbusters: Answer the Call. it will be set in the "Original" Ghostbusters Universe.

Now, I wish this wasn't a problem, but it is. People are annoyed that the Answer the Call Ghostbusters, Erin Gilbert, Abby Yates, Jillian Holtzmann and Patty Tolan, are being cast aside in favour of a new team, possibly aided by Dan Aykroyd's Ray Stantz and Ernie Hudson's Winston Zeddemore.

However, if anyone here knows the IDW Comic series, every team of Ghostbusters exists in multiple Universes, now with an easy way of colliding. Although I think that Alternate Universes are cliché and overused nowadays, we saw in Answer the Call that there is no way the two continuities exist together, unless the '84 Ghostbusters are in hiding or something. It does add some odd questions (like what the hell would have happened to the Containment Unit?) but that's why it's a theory that isn't widely accepted.

But, the thing I am looking forward to the most is Bill Murray, not only one of my favourite comedy actors, but one of my favourite actors in general, and although he has soured on the Ghostbusters franchise since Ghostbusters 2 back in 1989, he seems to have mellowed recently. He agreed to appear in Answer the Call, and although he had an annoying character, it's still progress. It would be good if, in the new film, Venkman had also distanced himself from the Ghostbusters and had to be turned around by the end, where we could see him striding out of a smoke filled room, clad in his old beige uniform, wisecracks at the ready.

However, all speculation aside, we'll definitely see a new Ghostbusters film. Hopefully it can unite all the fans, but at the very least, I'd like it to be a good film.

Here's to the Ghostbusters, old and new, here's to the Reitmans, here's to the fans, and finally, here's to the ghosts! Happy Hunting!

ECTO-1 as seen in the teaser trailer.
Note that it's the original, not ECTO-1A or the new ECTO-1.
